Mabanaft founds new trading company: Mabanaft East Europe

The newly established company will capitalize on trading opportunities in Eastern Europe, particularly in the former Soviet Union, bringing the experience of the Mabanaft organization to this growing region.
The main focus is on the development of new business in the Eastern European and CIS countries as well as on the integration of new trading activities in Russia and Turkey. The trading team collaborates with Mabanaft subsidiaries in Moscow, Chisinau, and Istanbul. The export business is operated in close cooperation with our Rotterdam team at Mabanaft B.V.
Mabanaft East Europe, based in Hamburg, began operation Sept. 1, 2007. Its managing director, Dr. Christian Flach, also functions as managing director for the entire Mabanaft organization. The trading business is headed by Karel Obalil, who has longtime experience and contacts in this business. He is assisted by a team of capable employees.
Mabanaft GmbH & Co. KG is the trading division of Marquard & Bahls AG, Hamburg, a leading privately owned petroleum company. Its business encompasses cargo and barge trading and the import and wholesaling of petroleum products. Furthermore, the company is active in service stations, heating-oil retailing, lubricants, biofuels, and bunker services. Through its subsidiaries and representative offices, Mabanaft is represented in all important regions worldwide.
