Biodiesel truck wins first prize at race in Thruxton
21.07.2007 - London:
For the first time in the history of British motor sports, a truck powered by biodiesel has won first place. The driver, David Jenkins, won a round of the Thruxton British Truck Race Association race on July 21, 2007.
Jenkins’ truck was fuelled with 50 percent biodiesel – supplied by Mabanaft Ltd. – and 50 percent regular diesel. In future races, the mix of diesel and biodiesel will be adjusted continually in favour of biodiesel with a target for the last race of the year to be 100 percent biodiesel.
Mabanaft Ltd. is dedicated to supporting motor sports to help prove the quality and capacity of biodiesel. Biodiesel is an ecologically friendly fuel that contains very little sulphur and leads to a clear reduction in climate-damaging CO2 emissions.
